ABOUT HOOPS ACADEMY
Hoops Academy is an organization based in Denver, CO with the mission of "education beyond the court." Our goal is to graduate student athletes who go on to career fields beyond athletics. Our success is not based on how many college or pro basketball players that we produce. Our success is based on how many successful young men and women we produce beyond the court.

Meet Coach A
Coach A is the founder and athletic director of Hoops Academy. He played for the Dallas Mavericks G-League team after graduating from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. In addition to being the athletic director for Hoops Academy, he is also the head varsity girls coach at Brighton High School. Outside of basketball, Coach A loves spending time with family, drumming, and reading.
Meet Coach Clay
Coach Clay is our analytics and recruiting guru. He joined our Hoops Academy team in late 2020 and has been a valuable member of our staff ever since. Outside of basketball he enjoys hiking and trying new foods.
Meet Coach Jon-Ryan
We are very excited to welcome Jon-Ryan as our new 17U Boys head coach. Jon-Ryan coaches at Palmer HS and is one of the most exciting up and coming coaches here in CO. His ability to connect with players and run an efficient, high energy system will be crucial as we prep to play on the PH Circuit.
Meet Coach Matt Yost
Coach Matt Yost is a HPS ACDMY alum and current college basketball player at CSU Pueblo. Matt is excited to join our staff and will bring toughness, grit, and passion to our 15U team.
Meet Coach Ty Brown and Coach Jay Sanders
We are excited to welcome two new coaches Ty Brown and Jay Sanders to our MS boys coaching staff. Both are excited to help grow our MS program and bring their basketball knowledge to our up and coming hoopers.
Meet Coach Nick Mejia
We are proud to welcome Coach Nick back to our Hoops Academy coaching staff. He is our 16U HS boys head coach and we are excited to have our favorite skills trainer take this coaching role.
